El Barista Co. LLC (“El Barista Co.,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through elbaristaco.com (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly
- Checkout & orders: When you place an order, checkout is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your name, shipping address, email, and payment details on its own secure checkout page. We receive your order details (items, shipping address, email) so we can fulfill and ship your order — we do not see or store your full card number.
- Coffee Cart & event inquiries: If you submit the event inquiry form, we collect your name, email, phone number, and any event details you provide (event type, date, location, guest count, notes).
- Direct contact: If you email us, we retain that correspondence to respond to you.
Information collected automatically
We use Google Analytics (via Google’s gtag.js) to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, pages visited, and referring site. This data is aggregated and does not directly identify you.
2. How We Use Information
- To process, ship, and provide support for your order
- To respond to Coffee Cart / event inquiries and general questions
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site
- To understand aggregate site traffic and usage trends
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to run the Site and fulfill orders:
- Stripe — payment processing and checkout. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics — site traffic and usage analytics. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — website hosting and the backend functions that process orders and inquiries.
- Andina Distribuitors Inc. — our private-label roasting and fulfillment partner, who receives the order information necessary to roast, package, and prepare your coffee for shipment. See our Roasting & Private Label Production disclosure for details.
These providers only receive the information they need to perform their services and are not permitted to use it for their own unrelated purposes.
4. Cookies
The Site uses cookies for basic functionality (such as remembering items in your shopping bag) and for Google Analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features of the Site (like the shopping bag) may not work correctly without them. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on.
5. Data Retention
We keep order and inquiry information for as long as needed to fulfill orders, respond to inquiries, meet our accounting and tax obligations, and resolve any disputes. Payment details are retained by Stripe under its own retention practices, not by us.
6. Your Choices & Rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing info@elbaristaco.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, including relying on Stripe’s PCI-compliant infrastructure for payment data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
